How do you get your hair straightened without going to the hairdresser?

My hair is naturally super curly... so I know how tough it can be.

The same process generally goes for all wavyish and curly styles. However, if your hair is thick like mine, you may also get in a good workout while straightening your do.

Step One:: Get good product. Yes, you can certainly use drugstore straighteners and smoothers, but the higher end products are going to give you a more polished look. If your hair's not that curly, the drugstore products will probably work fine. But if ya got the major curlies, you may want to try a more professional (read: expensive) product. it's totally worth it if you really wanna get straight.

However, do NOT buy a drugstore straightening iron OR hairdryer... like Revlon or the like. That's one thing I wouldn't skimp on regardless of texture. A good straightening iron and dryer will last for years and the power is WAY better than any drugstore brand. Look for CHI or Solano or Babyliss. I have a Solano dryer. got it on yahoo shopping.

CHI also makes AWESOME straightening products... and in my mall, (I don't know if this is true of all CHI stuff...) but where I am in jersey, there's a store that's always offering the CHI straightening iron with the shampoo/conditioner and serum for like 80something bucks. which is AWESOME. don't forget about ebay for all the products too... you never know what you can find there. it's almost always cheaper.

The good irons are generally going to run in the $80-$100+ range. And i think my blow dryer was just over a hundred...

A big barrell brush is also a must.

So you'll need to shampoo/condition.... After you towel dry, use a leave in conditioner (My secret weapon is Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner.... you can get in drugstores! I've been using it for YEARS and I swear by it) Then use the straightener of your choice on your damp hair. (Bath and Body Works has an awesome selection of great brands) It's really important to use the straightening serum bc it protects the hair from the heat. I hesitate to recommend Frizz Ease like someone else did.... doens't work on my hair.... and I find it oily...

Once you've done all that, youre going to section off your hair and use your big barrel brush to roll and blow dry. Use small sections for the smoothest result. After you blow dry, finish with the straightening iron for that super sleekness. (very important hair is fully dry before doing this). After you finish (it often takes me 45 min+ to do this...) I like to add just a small dollup of shine serum-- I'm trying to think of my brand.... and I can't off the top of my head, but it's a light teal color and you can get it is cvs... comes in a really small bottle and is just like a shine enhancer. its AWESOME.

And that's pretty much it!

and let me just add one other thing... you may need another shower after this whole process... and if you do it often enough, you'll never have to do another shoulder press bc your arms will be so ripped :)How do you get your hair straightened without going to the hairdresser?
flat iron i have one there great! How do you get your hair straightened without going to the hairdresser?
Use a flat iron it works even on curly hair. You can also a product by clariol that is a round brush with a blow dryer in it. This works too!
I use a hair straightener.
do it your self! they have this thing called a hair streightener now it's like a curling iron but flat!

really easy to use too!
HONEY BUY A TWENTY DOLLAR FLAT IRON!!!!!!
You owe it to yourself to wait and save up for a trip to the hairdresser, don't do anything at home, it may turn into a disaster. I've seen it too many times.
use frizz ease serum and hair straighteners...prefrabaly some good ones
stand under a bolt of lightening
when it's wet, apply a straightening balm and blow dry it straight...if your hair isn't too curly.
WITH A STRAIGHTENED IRON YOU COULD DO IT PUT IT IS GOING TO TAKE YOU A LONG TIME IT DEPENDS ON HOW LONG IS YOUR HAIR
hair straightener.
Two options.

Only this brand works. KAI hair straightern. It is expensive but it works, and quickly. I have really long hair and it takes no time at all. Cost @ $100. Lasts forever.

The other method. Use either olive oil or a bath and body, aromatherapy oil(I use vanilla lavender). Rub it through your hands and lightly put it in your hair before straightening with a large 2 inch curl iron, or the above flattening iron.

I have really curly dry hair and I just don't look right with pin straight hair, so the second method makes my hair look shiny and still straight, but bouncy. Good Luck.

These methods always work for me.
Buy a flat iron.
your hair looks pretty straight to me!!

a flat iron of course!

they sell'em @drugstores (such as wallgreens)
Really easy! Get a really good hair straightener (Conair) and when hair is damp, stragihten. Use some gels to give body if needed and hair spray!!!! But if you want it straight everyday, this is not a good idea to do everyday! I would get it professianlly straightened if you have to because straightening it everyday can give it damage and kill it! Be wise! Hope this helps!
Depends on what type of hair you have.

- Coarse-You need a relaxer. You can buy a Relaxer kit at any beauty supply store and most drug stores. A hot comb is also an option. I don't suggest you do either yourself. Ask a friend that is thorough with reading and following directions (for the relaxer) or someone with a steady hand that you trust will not to burn you to help you out(for the hot comb).

-Tight curls- Blow dry and flat Iron.

-Loose curls-A blow dryer should be sufficient. Use a vent brush if you want it bone straight. Use a round brush if you want a slight bend/curl at the bottom.

Be sure to put a little moisturizer or hair oil in your hair if it feels dry and/or crisp after straightening. This will help prevent it from breaking. Don't put it on before flat ironing, or you could potentially put too much and/or fry your hair.
Well 1st u comb it flat iron if and u keep it done and rapped uo in scarves
After taking a shower blow dry your hair and use a hair straightener and it should work that is what my cousin does.
A flat iron, of course.
um... well you can buy a hair straightner. there are tons of them at the places like CVS, Brooks,Walgreens,Target, but there not verygood quality. my hairs really curly and durring the year i wear it straight. i have this really good hair straightener i got at the hair dresser. its pricey thou. i have the least expensive one for that brand and it was on sale for $150.00 . it kind of depends on witch type of hair you have. if you have curly hair, you'll want a good straighter, and the ones that work best are the expensive ones. if you have wavy/straight hair then you could probley get away with a cheaper hair straighner. if you are African American the you may want the expensive ones, i am not sure.

good luck, i hope i helped
