What can i say to get it through to the hairdresser???

I have really thick hair and i want it really really thin, but everytime i go to the hairdressers they dont thin it out enough. Im going to the hairdressers tomorrow- what can i say to the hairdresser to make them realise that i actually want it thinned so about 50% of it is gone??! I can never seem to get it through to them! Please help!!What can i say to get it through to the hairdresser???
I know what you mean. I used to have the same problem. I now go to the Nicky Clarke salon in Manchester and have a hairdresser there called Lisa. She thins it so well and my hair feels 2 times lighter than it did when I went in. If you can make it to the Manchester salon I advise you to do so and book in with Lisa...she will do exactly what you want in your question. Im booked in for 12.30pm on Friday and im counting down the hours! What can i say to get it through to the hairdresser???
I'm a hairdresser and i wouldn't thin anyones hair so 50% is gone, it just wouldn't look right.

If you came to me and said something like, go mad with the thinnig scissors/razor etc or that you want as much bulk out as possible, i wouldn't be offended, if it's not right a observant hairdresser (which i hope i am) should be able to tell on your face.

Say if you want more off, there not mind readers,
Tell them again and at the end if your still not happy with it....and i know this part is hard simply say something....';no this isn't what i asked for say i wanted it 50% more thinner.'; Its awful at times to complain but you have to be honest otherwise you will never get your hair the way you want it!!

Happy Hair Cut :)
Tell them to layer/thin it.

And then if you want more done you

tell them to thin it more. Speak up to them

they don't know if you don't say!
after its thinned, say u want it ';whispy and razor-cut.';look at salons in ur area that specialise in razor-cut hair.i found one,and it was gr8.
It depends on the type of hair you have.If its African American you should not use thinning shears on it but they could relax it so that it would appear thinner and it would be more manageable.
Just tell them....Could you thin it out a little bit more please Thanks.

Im a hairdresser, they will not mind coz its their job :D

Good Lck x
Ask for layers. I have really think hair, and having layers makes it much better and gives it more shape.
For the best results of thin hair get a perm or straightten it. Make sure your perm is not too strong.
