And What the best salons and colleges in london to study? Is it better do train to become a hairdresser with a salon or at college?
Colleges are funded by the government. Salon have to make you work for them sooner so they can make the money that they would otherwise be receiving from the government. I'm currently going to a college for my training. I learned all I needed to know in my first semester. Next semester I get to take clients and start working at the college salon.
I have a classmate who went to a salon at first. She got taught the knowledge quite quickly. They put her on the floor after only a couple of weeks and she felt like she didn't know enough about what she was doing. She transferred to the college to further the education that she thought was insufficient.
It's all your choice, I hope I helped! Is it better do train to become a hairdresser with a salon or at college?
Why not combine the two by working in a salon and learning at the workface as to how you deal with clients as return clients will be footing your paycheque and getting day release to a college. It is unreasonable to expect a salon to train you for nothing and one day you will be the senior stylist and training juniors and you have to do the basic work to know how it is done.
