Hairdressers help?Hair for holiday?

I have bleach blonde highlights in my hair every 6 wks and im going on holiday to the carribean soon. Last time i went my hair ended up green! How do i stop this from happening and when should i get my hair done before i go? i was thinking a week before or is that too soon?

Als o are there any products i can put on my hair to protect it from the sun and swimming pool water thats nice?Hairdressers help?Hair for holiday?
Get your hair done a week to two weeks before going.

The green tint is very common from spending time in chlorinated pools as well as from environmental factors. Make sure you bring along a professional grade clarifying/detoxifying shampoo. This will help cleanse any chemicals out of your hair at the end of each day and keep your hair from turning green. Make sure you follow up each wash with a good moisturizing conditioner though... clarifying shampoos can be drying.

Also, there is a product made by Aveda called Color Conserve Sun Protector Leave in Foam. It is an excellent product for protecting against sun damage--it works like sunscreen for your hair. You can find a store or salon near you at www.aveda.com

Hiyyya!! i had the same problem !! wen i went to the carribbean my blonde streaks changed colour too! so when i go on holiday now i take purple shampoo its really good you can get it from boots/super drug and it makes brassy tones white, its really good!
Your hairdresser or local hairdressing supplies shop can give you a red toner that is like a semi-rinse... the red will neutralize any green!

If you have a toner to rid the green then a few days before will give your hair time to settle!
avon does/used to do a har product for only a few pounds that can prevent your hair from sun damage,

local supermarkets are the same, they prob have them.. hope this helps.
I give at least 1 week maximum 2 weeks to get my hair done before I go on holiday!
