What is a good guideline for tipping my hairdresser?

I'm never sure what is a good tip for her. Usually my bill is $60-$120 depending on what I have done. Is the restaurant tipping standard 15% right? What about Holiday time? What is a good guideline for tipping my hairdresser?
I'd say about 15-20%, nothing less. The better you tip, the better service you will recieve the next time you go in for a cut, color, whatever. I've found that if you tip you hairdresser well, than sometimes they'll even throw in a free haircut or eyebrow waxing. What is a good guideline for tipping my hairdresser?
Don't visit hair dresser only barber shops. my cut is eight I leave a ten spot on the table at my regular guy. If it is a new shop in different town, and the barber is a good gabber I'll leave a five. Back when they gave shaves, I'd leave a ten spot extra. You do a good job for me and I'll pay you extra. For Christmas, I give my barber a fifty so he can take his wife to dinner.
Personally I do not tip anyone that works directly for their fee. My hairdresser is a professional who gets paid at a fixed rate for the work that she does to my hair, so I would not consider tipping her just as I would not consider tipping my dentist or GP. I do however tip the shampooist - and I keep that to approximately 10%. (South Africa)
I think you should tip her whatever you feel is necessary. If you ve been getting you rhair done by her for a while and you know her, you can tip her a little more. I tip 20% at restaurants and stuff...the woman who does my hair is the owner of the salon and she doesnt accept tips herself but here's an idea...for haircut, color, partial foil and blowdry it comes to $215....i wouldve given her $50 if she accepted tips.... hope this helps!!
repeat business! Unless it is a stylist that makes house calls.
If my hairstylist does a good job and I am happy with the service that they provided, I normally tip right at 10%. I believe that is the standard for service jobs. They tend to work on commission, but it never hurts to tip for a job well done.
Hello

I usually use the restaurant tipping chart and do 15% Around the holidays, say Christmas or Easter I tip maybe 20% but more than the 15%.

I know there have been reports done that say a tip chart is a waitresses worst nightmare but I don't think so. I am not good with %, except like 50% off:), so I would rather use the tip chart to see they get the right amount rather than not leaving enough or nothing at all.
