I've tryed tafe courses, applying for apprenticeships, working in the salon for a day, and i cant afford to study at clip joint or shermans which i would love.... please give me sum sort of advice as i feel like i keep hitting a brick wall.Im 18 and want to be a hairdresser but iv tryed everything and dont seem to get anywhere can u help?
Cosmetology School would be the next thing to do, or well, it should have been the first thing you did. It takes only a year(Sometimes a little more, or less.) to complete the program. It's not going to be cheap, But If you want to be a hairstylist its worth it. You can take out loans and fiancial aid(If you qualify.). After you finish the course, You set up a appt. for boards, then you go to boards, and if you pass..You get your license.Im 18 and want to be a hairdresser but iv tryed everything and dont seem to get anywhere can u help?
I can't help much because I don't know where you live. I live in NY (not NYC! I live in central NY state), and here we have BOCES which offers a cosmetology program. Cosmetology covers manicures, pedicures, waxing, facials, and any service pertaining to the hair or scalp. Through BOCES, it costs $7,100 and its just under a year long. I went to an actual hairstyling institute and I paid around the same but they had better options for me and more hands on practice. I would look into places like that or even Google ';cosmetology schools in _____'; Good luck!!!
