I'm 29 and I now know that I want to be a hairdresser as i'm very creative. Where do I start? How long will it take to be aqualified hairdresser. I'm 29 and may need to work whilst studying to become one
it depends if u wanted to do an intensive course and want to get it all done quick, im not sure how long it is, probably a year. im just qualifying myself and ive been at college for 3yrs and thts to level 3 standards. level 2 is what most salons look for and that (full time) is a 2yr course. obviously these depend on what college you go 2 and how fast u get the hang of the techniques etc and do the assessments.
hope this helps and good luck xxHow long will it take to be aqualified hairdresser. I'm 29 and may need to work whilst studying to become one
Were about in England are you , you need to get into a training school (ie) herberts of liverpool or Andrew collinge , you will be placed in a salon and get a day relise to go to the training school , hairdressing is a long time to learn and will be very boaring for you from the start , 3 yrs is about the average time of learning , but as any other haidresser will tell you there still learning now even thought thay have been qualified for yrs , styles change all the time ,maybe try a night school there are loads of then try your local college thay will help you out there and piont you to were you wont to go , Im 29 now and have been a qualified hairdresser since i was 17 and i still learn new things everyday , good luck.
At Marvel it's 500hours, I believe but phone them.
In Kentucky it is 1800 hours.
In the US each state has their own requirement of hours. Check with a licensing bureau, or go down to a local salon and ask one of the hairdressers. They know what they did to get their licenses.
