I'm new to the whole salon thing because I used to go to a hairdresser who was a family friend and had a home studio, so now I'm not sure what to do.Er.. are you supposed to tip hairdressers?
yup- I do 10-15% (sorry, I'm paying about $70 for the service, I can't afford a full 20%!) I also double tip at Christmas.
One exception is that I had one beautician who routinely charged me an extra $20 for a treatment that I didn't ask for- and told her not to do. She'd also charge me extra for long hair, which I don't have. So I figured she tipped herself (they got bonuses for special services). Of course, I don't see her any more.Er.. are you supposed to tip hairdressers?
Usually about 20% of the bill. They are like waitresses, get paid mainly from tips.
For a haircut I give $3-5 depending on who's hairs getting cut and how long the hair is (me, my husband or my kids), for a cut n color I give $10.
I have always tipped directly..
you can if you want 2 if you reall ythink yur hair is worth being tiped
yes, you should. a few bucks would do for a haircut. more for color.
yes! you are supposed to tip them
I usually tip ten bucks
How do you think they get paid?
yes, you are supposed to tip anyone in the service industry that provides service.
Yes you tip them. It depends. Sometimes if you use a check card (visa) or something then you can add the tip to that.. the same as at a resturant. Or just give them cash. Either way it doesn't matter.
Yes they usually make a pretty low salary and its standard policy to tip them as they are performing a personal service for you.
